Jewellery Cabinet

As a very novice woodworker, I began this ambitious project in 2003 as a gift for Maxine. It was completed in December of 2025. Yes, you read that correctly. For 22 years it remained a casualty in my ongoing war with perfectionism.

The cabinet consists of two components: the vertical frame/leg structure, and the cabinet body/carcase. The carcase is hung on the frame where the frame pierces the carcase top in its four corners (each, a sort of loose mortise and tenon joint). This is the only point of contact between the frame and carcase. It’s a design that demands a level floor!
