Shallow Dining Hutch

A purpose-driven project, this dining hutch was designed to re-house a number of items collecting in both our living room and kitchen – including Maxine’s and Jess Henderson’s growing collection of pottery experiments. The cabinet features my first attempt at incorporating dovetail joinery into a full-scale furniture construction.

(Note: I've digitally swapped the background in some of these images as they were photographed outdoors in less than ideal conditions)

The stacked sliding door configuration (two doors up, two doors down) requires an interleaved track design that maintains door alignment without compromising structural stability. Note: I'll be updating this project once the glass for the upper doors is cut to size.
